Motorcycle Dyno in Brisbane

Have you made changes to your bike and not sure how it’s effecting the tune? Maybe that new exhaust has leaned it out or that fancy new airbox seems to be making more noise than a Rice Bubbles ad. With our emission standards becoming more strict it is hardly surprising that even brand new bikes get an increase in performance with just a little work on a motorcycle dyno.

We now offer a full tuning service for your classic carburetor motorcycle as well as offer the sales and installation of the POWER COMMANDER range for the fuel injected models. With the biggest range of PC5’s in Australia on hand we guarantee the quickest turn around of your motorcycle and after we discuss what it is you want from your motorcycle we can customise a map to suit whatever riding it is that you enjoy.

Just jump onto our calendar page and book in at a time that suits you. We can show you exactly how your motorcycle is performing under load in most conditions. We can then tell you the options you have to improve the tune.

Improvements can include

  • fuel economy
  • Torque
  • Horsepower
  • Temperature

When you come in we need to know what of the above are the most important to you.

Once you have successfully picked a date that suits you will be sent a PDF that we ask you to fill in and email back to us with info on current mods etc. This also allows us to be ready on the day and saves you time and money.

FAQ:

MY BIKE DOESN’T RUN. WILL A DYNO TUNE FIX IT?

Simple answer is no. There is no point in putting a bike on the dyno if we can’t even get it to start/idle. What we can do is sort out whatever is the issue before it goes on the dyno. Then we can start getting the air/fuel readings which will tell us if it is running rich or lean until we can get a full WOT (Wide Open Throttle) run.

MY BIKE HAS  A FLAT SPOT AND JUST WON’T REV THROUGH THE RANGE CLEANLY. WILL A DYNO FIX IT?

100% definitely. Oh wait, not as simple as that. Here’s a small list of things that can affect how the bike runs.

Any leaks in the manifold/exhaust. Have you checked for splits in the manifold?

When did the valve clearances last get done?

Is the fuel good? Any blockages in the line/filters etc.

DOES MY BIKE NEED TO BE TUNED?

If you’ve made changes to the airbox or the exhaust or cams than yes it is a good idea. Plenty of bikes are sold running lean just to comply with emission standards here in Australia so doing a run that checks air/fuel ratios can easily get a few percent better power out of the bike.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

A straight dyno run is $120 which takes approx an hour by the time we remove baffles, setup the bike, get it to temp and do at least 3 runs to get a good average. We try to only do one tune per day so that we can focus on your bike and not ‘half do’ the job. The cost is $90+gst per hour after the dyno run(or before if needed) which if it’s a simple single cylinder/single carb bike might be as quick as an hour. On the complicated side (read: a CBR250R/CB750 with rock hard intakes and standard airbox might take 4 hours. We try to keep you in the loop though as the tune progresses.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER COSTS?

If your bike is fuel injected ie Harleys after 2006 or most modern Japanese bikes than we will need to change the map for the ecu and most stock computers don’t allow this. We sell brands such as Dynojet, Woolich, Screaming Eagle and Daytona Twintec. We can advise you on what we think will work best for your application and tell you the price before you arrive. We ask that you pay for the system before the day of the tune.

WHAT TIME DO YOU PREFER?

Naturally due to the nature of the beast there can be unforeseen issues that arise so we ask you to get the bike to us as early as is convenient for you. Stress levels go up when we get a 3pm tune and nobody wants that haha

SHOULD I BRING ANYTHING WITH MY BIKE?

Sure. If you have jets for your bike. New intake manifolds, rebuild kit etc please bring them with the bike. A helmet so you can see the fruits of our labours when its all done can be handy as well!

DO YOU SELL JETS

Absolutely. We have hundreds of jets for Mikuni, Keihin and even Hitachi carbs.

DO YOU TUNE DIRTBIKES

No problem at all. The rules are still the same. If you want a valid power run then you will need a motard rear wheel so we don’t lose traction when going full throttle. If you want we can provide a tyre for that purpose and we keep a few popular rear wheels for this purpose that have usable dyno tyres.

DO I NEED TO STAY WITH THE BIKE?

No. Everyone’s busy but we will keep you in the loop with how it is going. We prefer not to have people on site when we do runs on the bike for Work Place Health and Safety reasons but if you want to see how it is going and get tips totally happy for that as well.

WHERE DO I DROP THE BIKE?

Our workshop at 1/37 Veronica Street, Capalaba.

If you need to cancel/postpone please give us at least 24 hours notice.
