We sold our first Hot Dog exhaust fro SR500’s to a return customer recently. We are happy to report that he loves it. As this exhaust is also 94.5 decibels it is legal on our roads too. Thank you Adam for a great pic of the exhaust. Can’t wait to hear them for ourselves.
Love these wheels?
Yes, we do. This front hub took 3 hours to remove the ribs and polish up on the metal lathe. The black powdercoat rim and the stainless spokes all work well to accent it as well as the Firestone tyres!
While it was apart we thought it was a good idea to face the disc so we will get a bit more stopping power out of the front brake on this SR500.
If you need wheels to be built or the parts or even a bit of old fashioned advice, get in touch with us here at Mostyn Industries in Brisbane and we will help you any way we can.
SR500 Gets a Face Lift
We had a customers bike in with a few mechanical issues. After a bit of discussion the owner Matty had a bunch of ideas that he had been putting off. Until now that is.
Everything that even resembled chrome had to be powdercoated black. The forks, levers and shocks all got the treatment. Next the tank got a gloss black paint job. While that was happening the motor came out and it too got a heat proof coat of Satin Black. Then we put on the new seat and grips both in tan colour. Repositioning of the taillight and new indicators is yet to happen along with making the electronics tray a little more discreet. With that much black going on we wanted to break it up a little so the front end got chrome gauges and stainless steel light brackets that work with the chrome fork legs.
What we have here now is a low sleek, mountain machine that will disappear into the darkness ready to pounce again at a moments notice.
XS1100 project finished
Happy to say that we have our own daily run-about now. With all the other bikes on the go we haven’t been able to spend any time on a bike for ourselves. Here is the new shop bike. Engine stripped and rebuilt. Frame powdercoated. Electrics all sorted. Love these bikes and am actually looking forward to doing the daily errands now:)
Lord’s Prayer
Our father who art online
Hallowed be thy xs
Who will come
To get my xs done
In Brisbane as it is (riding) heaven
Give me this day my daily ride
And forgive all my sins
As I forgive the dickhead that cut the plugs off my wiring loom Lead me to not burn down my bike
But deliver me an angel (with above mentioned connectors) For my xs has the look, the power and the torque Now and forever
AMEN

XS1100 Progress
Happy to say the XS1100 in the workshop is finally making headway. The bike is a roller and the brakes have been sorted so it’s a stopper as well. As if that wasn’t enough, 34 years of electrical mistakes have been rectified so now when the key turns, things happen. Ok it doesn’t start but it does light up like a Christmas tree!
We’ve got the tank and seat heading off for paint as we speak. After building this tank 12 months ago it’s about time it got a paint job. Going with a dark almost british racing green with gold pin striping.
